HEAVY DUTY TRUCK PROGRAM

one agm.
one superbank.
zero issues.

Your heavy duty came with two batteries because you need the power. Upgrade your factory setup to an XS Power D-Series AGM and a 500 Farad SuperBANK ultracapacitor and you get instant cranking amps, stable voltage under load, and an electrical system that actually holds a charge — instead of two lead-acid units that age faster and are less powerful.

Long-lasting Durability & Maximum Comfort.

AGM FOR RESERVE.
SUPERBANK FOR start.

Heavy duty trucks have dual batteries for multiple reasons, notably for cranking over a high compression engine while storing added electrical power for upfitting. Dual batteries allow for maintaining voltage for the huge amperage spike for the starter, warming of glow plugs, and keeping enough reserve capacity to run electronics, upfits and plow gear. The factory batteries "get by" until you start adding electrical components in the aftermarket. Pairing our D-Series AGM with our SuperBANK capacitor puts the right technology on each job — SuperBANK handles huge amperage spikes, while AGM offers extreme reserve power for all other occasions.

Cold starts, solved

The ultracap dumps current the instant the key turns, so voltage doesn't sag below what the ECM and glow system want to see at 10°F.

No mismatched pair

Two aging lead-acid batteries fight each other. One AGM carries the reserve alone, and the SuperBANK never draws it down.

Direct fit, factory trays

Both units are BCI group-sized to your truck's OE boxes. Stock hold-downs, stock cables, no fabrication.

Easier on the truck

Stable voltage means longer life for starters, relays, alternators and control modules — the expensive parts.

WHATS IN THE KIT

D-Series AGM

99.99% pure lead AGM. Spill-proof, vibration tolerant, and sized to your factory group. Up to 1,100 cranking amps and 174 minutes of reserve.

SB500 SUPERBANK

500 Farads, 4,000W of surge, 11 lbs. Recharges in seconds and shrugs off extreme heat and cold. Rated past a million cycles.

TERMINAL ADAPTORS

Two per kit so the OE cables land exactly where they did before — 580 short SAE posts, or 551 marine tops where the platform calls for it.

common questions

Do I lose reserve capacity going from two batteries to one?

Not in practice. Factory pairs are chosen for cranking amps, not storage. A D-Series AGM carries the reserve on its own, and the SuperBANK handles the amperage spike the second battery used to cover.

Does the SuperBANK need a special charger or isolator?

It does not require an isolator or a special charger. You will, however, need to correctly charge SuperBANK before install.

Will it fit under the stock hold-downs?

Yes. Every kit on this page is matched to the BCI group size of that truck's factory boxes, so the AGM and the SuperBANK both drop into the OE trays.

What about adding aftermarket accessories like plows, winches, audio systems or other heavy electronics?

This setup is designed with the aftermarket in mind. Factory batteries are great for factory components but suffer when you add aftermarket electronics. Upgrading your electrical system allows for clean, stable voltage to not only your factory components, but heavy, current-demanding accessories like winches, hydraulic plows, and on-board air compressors.

How long would a setup like this last compared to just replacing factory batteries?

AGM batteries are happiest within their operating range, and engine starting is the most common contribution to aging. Most AGM batteries will see well into the 9-volt range under stress (engine cranking) slowly breaking down the battery from a molecular level. Being that capacitors are designed for instant discharge, not only will you see higher crank speed, but you'll also see higher voltage under cranking, keeping the battery much happier overall. Typically, AGM batteries have a 500-1500 cycle life, and when paired with a capacitor with a 1-million cycle life, you should see up to three times longer lifespan of this combo than two traditional AGM batteries.

Can I just swap one of my existing factory batteries for a SuperBANK Capacitor?

Absolutely! Our capacitors are offered in all of the BCI group sizes, and swapping is as simple as charging the capacitor before install, removing one of your existing batteries, and installing your new SuperBANK.
